Cs.org was a great site but we still have thyelite im grateful for that alone.
|
i hate that, coke just can't make enough money they have to sue someone...
or maybe they dont get money..... :] |
Read Please:
- - - - Okay. Mycoke cannot sue! The reason behind this is because they left 'CokeStudios' Behind to make Mycoke... Once you leave something, you shouldnt be able to take it back. Mycoke.org should be sued. I bet the only reason they "Sued" Tom, is because he Produced all of these programs. He may have taken the name, but so what??? THEY LEFT THE NAME AND 1.0 FOR 2.0 AND MYCOKE!!!! They dont Own the name anymore! Thats fucking bullshit!~ |
Im not sure about that because Mycoke still has a Coke Studios. I am really not educated in this category though so i shouldnt be argueing with anyone.

About this sue shit I cant tell you if its true, for what I know its only a roumour and I hope it is. The deal was to get a new cs.org (alpha) but since I left for 2 weeks I didnt know shit after that. |

Takeshi made a big mistake registering his domain as a copyrighted term that he had no rights to what so ever. I wouldn't be suprised one bit if Coke sued him. The same can go for MyCoke.org. They have no rights to the term MyCoke yet they named an entire website after it. MyCoke never "left behind" Coke Studios. They left behind Coke Music, not Coke Studios. Coke had every right to sue. |
if he is getting sued for the name of his domain why doesnt he just change the domain to something else?

Look it up |

|
Yes Thyelite.com is growing fast there are alot of active users and we get like what 1 user like every day. Seems like it. If you actually look down at the bottom :p.
|
sometimes even more than one...
|
Yeah thats true.
|
could coke sue even if you just have "coke" in your domain name?
if so, quite a few people could get screwed... or maybe not. maybe this case is just an excuse for mycoke to take down a huge anoyance. cs was great... it sucks that it's gone. but i'm sure we will make do. :toothy2: |

Yeah. We got shut down by Coke.
I didn't get sued, but that was out of sheer luck that i'm a minor (1 more year and I would've lost all my worldly possesions). Basically, I got a letter from Coke's solicitors, telling us that we must shut down the site immediately (due to trademark infringement), I have to pay the solicitors' fees (this is not a cheap solicitor, I tell thee), and that Coke will be seeking damages "for damaging it's reputation". The latter, is not happening, but i've had to shut down the site, and am going to have to scrape up several ££££ (yes, 4 digits), for the solicitors. I was given no warning, contrary to popular belief. And yes, my parents did fucking freak... wouldn't yours? No. I don't get grounded... and I sure as shit don't get sent to boot camp (like some people I know... *cough*Chris*cough*). For the above reasons, I will not be participating in MyCoke-related stuff anymore, I've chosen to basically remove myself from the scene... just posting this here, 'cause I think you all have the right to know. Sorry people, // Tom/Takeshi. (and yes, this is the real me). |

That sucks big Cock! Well.... Its nice to actually hear from you. |

On a side note, Chris, you went to bootcamp?! HAHA! That sucks man. LOL, From what I hear Boot Camp is as hard as our Army BCT which is considered hell. Anyway, I guess all good things do come to an end. Take care Tom! |

Hmm.. I've recieved a couple letters from coke, they've never taken action though. They were very vague on what exactly I was doing wrong.
Also, how did they find your address, Tom? |
Hmm.
Well Tom, before you leave the Coke scene, would you do us the favor of removing your cs.org auth from all of the programs you made with it? Maybe to prove that it really is you. Not that I don't believe its really you, but just to confirm it cosidering anybody can just register at a forum and claim to be someone. |
That reminds me, Tom, how did your auth work? Did you have it skew the IP into a number, and then add a 0 when logged in? I tried creating one, but I wasn't successful. Get on gmail messenger or aim one day, I want to talk to you..
|
Good luck Tom, hopefully you will be active. Not making programs or filters for coke but just talking and chilling. Also if you have time add me to aim (shad0w0rfeo) or msn (mario.aguire.c@gmail.com) so we can talk.
Thanks for everything man. |
Added you both to MSN. I don't really use AIM anymore.

Ouch...Well, it was a good run Tom. You've done things for the Coke Studios cheating scene like no one else could. Maybe you could ask coke to at least give you a t-shirt.

lol, saying something is copyrighted on a page doesn't really make it copyrighted. Using something not in the copyright office will be laughed out of court. |
