How come my Media player lags when I open .avi? file?
Well, I downloaded without a paddle. It's an .avi and its 2 differnt download things. Part1&2. I try to open one of them and it lags my computer, it wont even go. It says "connecting".....and lags it up. 500 RAM. 2.8 Ghz processor. Doubt that matters but anyone know? I went into options and says that .avi file is enabled. I even downloaded winamp and tried. went on microsoft and did a test of an .avi file, it worked fine.
Please help? |
It's probely the actual file. What are you connecting to the internet with? Dial-up, Cable, DSL?
|
Hmm. I always use Video Lan Media Player from www.download.com for movies. Has all the codec stuff. Try that see if it works if not then its the file.

Ok, Im using cable. Cox internet. Its like 3 Meg up.

Then it has to be the file. Instead of downloading it illegally (I'm guessing you did), how about you go buy it for 20$ and watch it on TV, that way you don't download a whole bunch of shit on your computer and you can watch the movie over and over again without having to biffer or any shit like that.

its not the file. .avi is a DivX format. get DivX and play them. Divx is for movies, WMP is not.
