Default Hail - 05-28-2020, 12:33 PM

Hello Hello. I went by the handle ib4(or ibanezbass04) back in the day on CM, 909, and BlingRecordz. I was looking to see if the FB community was still in the process of reviving the CM HTML5 platform they were working on and came across this site. I was lookin gat the old posts from 2006 and saw posts about HAIL. A big LMAO if you remember who that was!

I did not join this site back in the day. I think it was because I was busy trying to steal NineZeroNine's thunder with ibfour.com, paperblender.net, and plasticspork.net after HAIL exposed NinezeroNines source files.

This ones for a nostalgic throwback:

I had become cool with HAIL for quite a bit, although it was a very weird relationship. He handed NineZeroNine's sources files right over to me when he got them (he also listed them on their own index page after he shat on their site). Myself and a couple friends from 909/Coke/Bling were able to generate a new site with the 909 source files where we managed to get hundreds of users fleeing 909 to sign up and continue community with us. In that time though, HAIL started exploit our shit too. HAIL was literally demented lol I don't remember one normal conversation with him(her? who really knew?!).

I'm actually a Systems Engineer presently in the Info-Sec side(Cyber Security) and I'm actually very proficient in PHP these days. It was 909 that got me started down that path. Looking back, its kind of funny to think the things HAIL did to spook people were all simple script kiddy methods. There were legends of bigger acts by him, but i never saw the larger acts in the time that i would perosnally chat with him. Even when he broke Justin's(404 of 909) famous portal script wide open, it seemed so major at the time, but he was exploiting massive holes in the JS and the PHP/MySQL portions with very basic level code injection.

Anyway, glad to find another community of Coke Music Nostalgia lovers! I found Russ(rflymen of 909) on Linkedin about a year or so ago and spoke to him about starting 909 back up since they still own the domain...it didn't matter how compelling the pitch was or how much i offered to do the work, they weren't interested. Sometimes it makes me wonder if it was the fact that you can never keep everyone on your website happy, that got to them, or the BS HAIL put their site through that got to them. Timeline wise, many things relating to these areas all coincided with the fall of their site.

Side Note: When I was looking at thyelite.com with the WayBackMachine I saw a short period where it looked like ThyElite may also have obtained 909 sources files. Am I observing that correctly?

What's up man! Welcome.

Hail had the advantage of being older than most of us at the time. He also took a lot of people's exploits and claimed them as his own. That being said, he definitely pioneered some exploits and knew a lot more than I did about computer shit. He also social engineered a lot of shit too and was just a dickhead in general.

As for the site, I do not believe I ever used the 909 files. We did have a similar site design, but I was modeling mine off of Coke's site. I remember coding the first iterations of the site and then using a layout from ddgfx.

Thanks for the warm welcome! The explanation of the layout makes sense. Also, as I said, in the archives I looked thru, it was a very brief period, but nothing that let me see for certain it was that. I also forget that the simple clean text and basic CSS was getting big at the time, so many things looked similar.

Your first paragraph nailed it on the head. I should have added that in as that’s always been one of my thoughts too.

Good times though, Cokemusic is what lead to me to cokemusic fan sites, and that alone lead me to the curiosity of building websites. Down the line all of that was the start of what would one day become a very fruitful career. It’s crazy to think I can attribute my career start back to my cokemusic days as a teen hah!

I remember one of my biggest upsets about the cokemusic days was, I didn’t even begin cokemusic until after the Coke Couches and Pinballs era. Not the era in which you could still trade them. I mean the era where people could obtain them through means the game offered. No matter how much I gained in my rooms, they were always lacking those beautiful read couches and pins
