Default All filters patched? - 07-27-2006, 04:11 PM

Okay this what a mod told me: "Coke music is working on a whole new encryption that sent packets cannot be modified, only recieving ones"

Which pretty much means that you will only be able to make clientsided filters. So if this is right.. I guess thats cool, :eusa_eh:

Why are you here if you're going to say that you don't want server sided filters? Client side shit is complete shit and you're on a fucking hacking forum, so you don't come and say thats cool. That fucking sucks, without server side shit, there's no point. And you can decrypt the packets and still make filters and programs that do serverside things, it will just be harder.

STFU Jeremy, don't be a dumbass. He was just saying something, so keep your dumbass mouth shut.

The trick to filters is making a client-sided filter that does something serverside. All filters are client-sided in reality, but their effects are serverside.

moved to general.

I dont really care at all. The only server side filter that i use today is 10 fast cokes. So i wouldnt give anyshit at all if they made new encryption

Like my layout filters. They edit the recv packet and change the layout of the room which is clientside, but because of that, you can put furni down and it will show up in the same coordinates on the real layout serverside.

Exactamundo.

Server-side filters aren't really encrypted though, they're just preceeded by a hash of some sort, then the packet # (the number of packets sent since you logged into CokeStudios), which *must* be correct in order for the packet to be accepted by the servers. As of yet, we haven't figured out how to generate these hashes.

All "serverside" hacks are in reality, clientside hacks, which in turn cause your client to send a correct serverside packet, complete with the generated hash and number, in order to create a serverside effect.

Hope that elaborates a bit on Chris' comment.
