could coke sue even if you just have "coke" in your domain name?
if so, quite a few people could get screwed... or maybe not. maybe this case is just an excuse for mycoke to take down a huge anoyance. cs was great... it sucks that it's gone. but i'm sure we will make do. :toothy2:

Yeah. We got shut down by Coke.
I didn't get sued, but that was out of sheer luck that i'm a minor (1 more year and I would've lost all my worldly possesions).
Basically, I got a letter from Coke's solicitors, telling us that we must shut down the site immediately (due to trademark infringement), I have to pay the solicitors' fees (this is not a cheap solicitor, I tell thee), and that Coke will be seeking damages "for damaging it's reputation".
The latter, is not happening, but i've had to shut down the site, and am going to have to scrape up several ££££ (yes, 4 digits), for the solicitors.
I was given no warning, contrary to popular belief. And yes, my parents did fucking freak... wouldn't yours? No. I don't get grounded... and I sure as shit don't get sent to boot camp (like some people I know... *cough*Chris*cough*).
For the above reasons, I will not be participating in MyCoke-related stuff anymore, I've chosen to basically remove myself from the scene... just posting this here, 'cause I think you all have the right to know.
Sorry people,
// Tom/Takeshi.
(and yes, this is the real me).

Bastards... However, we all knew Coke was going to do something sonner or later. By the way, 7.000 Euros is 8,856.42 USD. That's about $8,800 USD more than I have ever had!
On a side note, Chris, you went to bootcamp?! HAHA! That sucks man. LOL, From what I hear Boot Camp is as hard as our Army BCT which is considered hell.
Anyway, I guess all good things do come to an end. Take care Tom!

Hmm.. I've recieved a couple letters from coke, they've never taken action though. They were very vague on what exactly I was doing wrong.
Also, how did they find your address, Tom?

Hmm.
Well Tom, before you leave the Coke scene, would you do us the favor of removing your cs.org auth from all of the programs you made with it?
Maybe to prove that it really is you. Not that I don't believe its really you, but just to confirm it cosidering anybody can just register at a forum and claim to be someone.
