For best quality save it as .jpeg, but if your doing a transparent background you can save it as .gif. To save some thing in photoshop go to file save as, click the drop down menu and press .jpeg then ok. If its an animation sig in image ready instead of going to save as, go to save optimized as and it will save it as .gif automatically.

Best quality, JPEG? No no no. You've got it all wrong. Best quality=PNG. Just like BMP but works for more people. Portable Network Graphic. It doesnt lose color like Jpeg's and Gif's.

Gif has a color limit of 256 different colors for a single image.

Jpeg only loses color if you set it to a low quality. Set it to 100 and it will be just as good as any bmp you'll find. (As a matter of fact, my current sig is a jpg)

Png is the best though. Same quality as jpg and bmp but with a small file size.

he's right, png is the best. you may have to look around for a hosting site that will host a png. but i believe they all do now. also, i believe you know not to use paint if you ARE going to use a jpeg...cause paint saves it as such a low resolution.
use photoshop, i use photoshop 7. i believe they have a crack and a download for the newest photoshop here, but i haven't gotten to that yet.

if you need any more help i'll help you out. i love to see fellow girls making sigs! yhay!

Yes i thought she was using PS, and jpeg doesnt lose any color when its at maximum. So i think png is about the same thing as jpeg, unless your trying to do a transparent BG but it doesnt show for IE. png is kinda useless for me because jpeg does the same thing but no transparent BG's.

Lol, your first post in this thread suggests using a .gif for transparent files...
