spex... hush... most forums have off topic sections meant for spamming... there are mods you can get where you can disable the post count for that section.. alot of em are fun and whatnot and end up doing stupid little games like "word association" which in a mature community can end up being pretty funny... then again, i come from a gaming comunity of old farts and cocky young guns so I cant really say that would work here... anyways..

its not a dumb request... its very relevant to the forum, think of it as a place to get some random question off your chest... and so what if people boost their posts... who cares about post ocunt anyways..

I don't like the idea. It's a waste of space and bandwidth. Take a look at the largest boards on the planet: http://www.big-boards.com/

None of them have spam forums. I don't see what it accomplishes aside from showing newbs they have a place here. And that's exactly what we don't want. The Raged forum provides enough entertainment and is the closest thing I think ThyElite should come to a spam forum.

No reason to flame at the dude. A Off Topic/Spam section isnt bad in anyway. Lets not compare thyelite to some of the biggest forums on this planet. Thyelite will never be that big because its a mycoke forum unless mycoke some how gets 5million active members... so why try to be like them.

I also hate how the word "noob" is thrown around. Do you think youre elite or special in this community because you have more then 1 post? Are you scared a so called "noob" will over post you with a Off Topic section available? Stop commiting your life to keeping what you call "noobs" out of thyelite. Half of the members around you are what you call "noobs". In reality youre acting like a noob!

The reason they have so many is because they are respectable communities. Spam forums deter dignified posters from joining. People like me. I spend a lot of my time on the internet on forums, when a forum has a Spam forum, it makes it that much less desirable to join. And it's not just me that's like that, every young gun forum thinks it's a good idea, and that's why they have no members.

I didn't spend the last four years studying web analytics, CSS compliancy, HTML regulation, internet culture, and usability design to be on the same level as everyone else. You're damn right I'm elite. Post count doesn't mean shit. I'm dignified, I'm intelligent, and I know what I'm talking about. Newbs don't. We don't want them here. =/

A spam forum is incentive to post unintelligently, gives me a reason not to moderate a particular forum, and will waste bandwidth and space.
